Dr. Seth Hood

Senior Pastor
Pastor Seth has served in vocational ministry for over 28 years. After serving as a bi-vocational student minister in his hometown of Hatton, AL for six years, he joined our staff as Associate Pastor of Students and Education in 2004. He became our pastor in April of 2009. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of North Alabama (2000), as well as a Master of Divinity (2008), a Doctor of Ministry in Evangelistic Church Growth (2017), and a Post Doctoral Certificate in Pastoral Ministries (2023), all from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a devoted father to his three sons, Avery, Owen, and Graham.
Jonathan Moore

Associate Pastor / Music & Worship Ministry
Jonathan has served in local church ministry for over 30 years, including 24 years at FBCCH. A 1992 graduate of Colbert Heights High School, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Music (Commercial Music major, Business Administration minor) from the University of North Alabama and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Applied Ministry through Liberty University's Rawlings School of Divinity, focusing on Church Ministry in the Digital Age alongside Music and Worship Studies. In the mid-1990s, he traveled nationally singing baritone and playing keys with The Voyagers, a Southern Gospel group under the Welcome Home developmental label (a division of Homeland Records, Nashville, TN), and he now brings that rich musical heritage to our worship team. Jonathan is married to his lovely wife, Gina, and is the proud dad of Grey, Ellyn, and Madelyn.
Joey Carter

Associate Pastor / Mountaintop Students & Family Ministries
Joey was born and raised in Bartlett, Tennessee, a suburb of Memphis. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations from the University of Memphis (2005) and a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (2009). Joey has served in ministry for over 20 years, having previously served as Youth Pastor in Brighton, Tennessee. He joined our staff in March of 2019 and has served as our Associate Pastor of Students and Families during his time at FBCCH. While attending seminary, Joey met his wife Traci, and they married in 2010.
Karly Herring

Director of Counseling Ministries / Communications
Karly grew up in the Colbert Heights community and had been a member serving at FBCCH for over 10 years before coming onto our staff as an Administrative Ministry Assistant in 2024. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management from Athens State University (2023), a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University (2025), and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. She is married to Adam and is a mom of two boys, Langston and Linc.
Kasey Summers

Director of Mountaintop Kids Ministry / Outside the Walls
Kasey taught elementary school for 20 years at Hatton Elementary School in Lawrence County, where she lives. After feeling led to retire early from education in May 2025, God called her into children’s ministry, and she joined the FBCCH staff in April 2026. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University (2003) and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama (2019). She is currently pursuing a Master of Religious Education from Liberty University. Kasey and her husband, Jeff, have five children: Hayden, Kyle, Emerson, Landen, and Julius (Juju).
Amanda Hatton

Director of Mountaintop Tiny Chapel Ministry
Amanda has 20 years of childcare experience and holds a certificate in Early Childhood Development. She has served on staff with our children’s ministry in some capacity since 2018. Her roles have included Children’s Minister and daycare billing. In 2025, she established the Tiny Chapel, where she leads and coordinates ministry for children and families. She has a heart for serving children and a passion for sharing the love of Jesus. Amanda is married to Michael and is a mom to three boys, Andrew, Brayden, and Cason. Together, they reside in Russellville, AL.
Sam Howard

Director of Mountaintop Men's Ministry
Sam has served as Men's Ministry Director at FBCCH since 2023. He is a journeyman lineman at Sheffield Utilities. He is currently pursuing an Associate of Arts in Christian Ministry through Leavell College at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He adores his wife, Madalan, and their two daughters, Eyla and Everly. Sam is passionate about men's discipleship and challenging men to become who they are meant to be in Christ, and enjoys preaching when opportunities arise.
Madalan Howard

Director of Mountaintop Women's Ministry
Madalan has served as Women's Ministry Director at FBCCH since 2023. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama and works part-time with Enhabit Hospice. She will finish a Master of Arts in Ministry to Women from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2027. She deeply values family. She is a wife to Sam and a mom to Eyla and Everly. Madalan is passionate about seeing women grow in Christ through teaching His Word and hands-on discipleship.

Suzan has lived in the Colbert Heights community all of her life and after graduating from Colbert Heights High School chose to stay and give back to the community she loves so much. Suzan joined our staff at FBCCH in 2026 and considers it a true blessing and privilege to be called to serve her church family, whom she loves dearly. Suzan is married to her husband, James. They have been blessed with a big, beautiful family: Jesse, Tamara, CJ, Aydrienne, Belle, Jordan, Austin, and Tristan. She is also a proud "MeMe" to her granddaughter, Remington.
Donna Ezekiel

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Donna began attending First Baptist Church Colbert Heights in March 1999. Over the years, she has served faithfully in many areas of ministry including teaching Sunday School, leading in our kids ministry, and serving through the homebound ministry. In March 2025, she joined our staff at FBCCH, continuing her passion for serving the Church and its members. Donna, her husband, and two children have lived in our community for nearly 30 years.
