Concerning Scripture: The Holy Bible, written by man but divinely inspired by God, is His revelation of Himself to us. It is complete without error and reveals the principles by which God judges us. It is true and solidly trustworthy. It will remain to the end of time. It is the standard for living for all mankind. Salvation is the central theme through the revelation and testimony of Jesus Christ.
Concerning God: There is one and only one living God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Presever, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinte in holiness and all other perfections. He is powerful and all knowing, and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future. He reveals Himself to us in three persons with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. They are co-equal, One in the same.
Concerning God the Father: God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of human history follows accordingly to His purposes and plan.
Concerning God the Son: Jesus Christ is the living Son of God. Jesus has eternally existed and became man at His incarnation. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless human life of love and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He bodily arose from the dead following three days, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and all its glory and is coming back to earth oneday to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Concerning the Holy Spirit: The third person of the Trinity, is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He guides men into all truth, exalts Christ, convicts of sin, righteousness and judgement, cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, bestows spiritual gifts by which believers serve God. His presence in the lives of Christians is the guarantee that God will bring the beliver into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.
Concerning Mankind: Man is God's special creation made in His own image. He created us male and female distinctively. The gift of gender is part of the goodness of God's creation. Initially, mankind was innocent of sin and endowed by his Crator the freedom of choice. It was mankind's own choice to sin against The Creator and disobey God the Father through the temptation of Satan, the prince of this world. That free choice brought sin into the human race. At that moment, mankind inherited a nature and environment inclined to sin which was and is passed on to all generations. As soon as they are capable of moral descision, mankind becomes transgressors and place themselves under condemnation. Sin seperates mankind from God and causes the problems of life. We are in desperate need of forgiveness.
Concerning Salvation: Salvation is the restoration of mankind to God. It is available to any person who freely accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. When we receive the doctrine of grace through faith in Jesus Christ, we receive God's forgiveness. In its broadest sense, salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctificiation, and glorification. There is no salvation or restoration to God apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
Concerning Eternity: God created us for life and mankind will exist forever. A life seperated from God by sin will live eternally in Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. A life restored to God by faith through Jesus Christ will live eternally in Heaven in all of its glory. These are real places of eternal existence.
Concerning End of Time & Heaven: God in His own time and own way will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to earth. At that moment, the dead will be raised and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell. The righteous, those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord by faith, in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with Him.
Concerning Eternal Security: God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ. The true believer, someone who genuinely accepts Jesus Christ and chooses to follow His ways and live by His example, is secure in that salvation for eternity. In this sense, salvation cannot be lost. It is maintained by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in the genuine believer's life.
